In this episode of Journal Party, we’re exploring patience—not as a passive act of waiting, but as an active practice of trust, presence, and allowing things to unfold in their own time. If you’ve ever felt the urge to rush toward a goal or force an outcome, this one’s for you.
Host Alex Gallner shares personal reflections on balancing excitement with patience and guides you through 5 powerful journal prompts to help you slow down, stay grounded, and find meaning in the process.
Grab your journal, find a cozy spot, and let’s dive into the art of trusting the journey.

JOURNAL PARTY! JOURNAL PARTY PODCAST! JOURNAL PARTY! JOURNAL PARTY PODCAST! What's up party people, you're listening to the Journal Party Podcast, where every week we get together for a little guided journaling jam sesh. My name is Alex Gallner, and I'll be your host, so here's how it works. I'll give you a journal prompt and a groove, and you just start writing. After a few minutes, you'll hear a little bell that sounds like this, and we'll move on to the next prompt. After a couple minutes, you'll hear that bell again, and we'll move on to the next prompt, and we'll just keep going on like that until we're finished. Feel free to write on whatever you like, and if you finish before the bell, you can try to dig deeper and elaborate, or just chill out and enjoy the tunes. Don't overthink it, there's no wrong way to do this, so welcome to the party. Journal Party! Hello, hello, my party people. How's everybody doing? Okay, real talk. I've got some super exciting projects that I'm working on right now for Journal Party, and I'm pretty pumped up about it. Like, wake up at 3am with ideas kind of pumped. But here's the thing. Because I want the outcome that I'm imagining so badly, I've caught myself rushing, overworking, trying to force things to happen faster. And you know what? That never leads to my best work. So, today I'm leaning into the idea that patience isn't just about waiting. It's about trusting the process, allowing things to unfold in their own time, and giving ourselves the space to create something truly meaningful. If you've ever felt that urge to speed things up, to push harder, to just get there already, you're not alone. Today we're going to be jamming through five journal prompts to help you embrace patience, stay grounded, and trust that your hard work is building something beautiful. So open up that journal and let's get this party started. Here comes prompt number one. What does patience feel like in your body? How can you recognize when you're grounded in patience versus when you're feeling rushed or anxious? Prompt number two. Think of a time when patience led to a better outcome than rushing would have. What did you learn from that experience? Prompt number three. What fears or beliefs come up for you when things aren't happening as quickly as you'd like? How might those fears be influencing your actions? Prompt number four, how can you find joy or meaning in the process itself, even when the outcome is still far away? I'll see you in the next video. Prop number five. What would it look like to fully trust the timing of your life right now? Describe how that version of you moves, thinks, and feels. Alright party people, take a moment to sit with whatever insights came up for you today. Patience isn't about sitting still and doing nothing. It's about being present, intentional, and trusting that the seeds that you've planted will grow in their own time. You're doing the work, and that's enough.
