Are you ready to break free from the limiting stories you've been telling yourself? In this powerful episode of Journal Party Podcast, we explore how to identify and transform the narratives that no longer serve your growth and potential.

We all carry stories about who we are, what we're capable of, and what we deserve in life. But here's the truth most people never realize: many of these stories aren't even ours. They're often built from childhood comments, past failures, societal expectations, or moments of self-doubt that we've unconsciously adopted as absolute truth.

Today, our host Alex Gallner guides you through five transformative journal prompts designed to help you examine these internal narratives with fresh eyes. You'll learn to question the stories that limit you, celebrate evidence of your true capabilities, and consciously craft new narratives that align with who you're becoming.

This episode is perfect for anyone who feels stuck by self-imposed limitations, struggles with imposter syndrome, or wants to break free from patterns of negative self-talk. Whether you're someone who tells yourself you're "not creative," "bad with relationships," or "always mess things up," these prompts will help you discover a more empowering and authentic story about yourself.

Through guided journaling, you'll explore moments when you surprised yourself with your own strength and capability. You'll practice writing about yourself with the same compassion and belief that your biggest supporter would use. Most importantly, you'll begin the process of consciously authoring the next chapter of your life story.

The Journal Party Podcast combines personal growth with practical journaling techniques, making self-reflection accessible and engaging for both beginners and experienced journalers. Each episode provides structured prompts that go beyond surface-level questions to create real breakthrough moments and lasting personal transformation.

What's up party people? You're listening to the Journal Party podcast where every week we get together for a little guided journaling jam sash. My name is Alex Goner and I'll be your host. So here's how it works. I'll give you a journal prompt and a groove, and you just start writing. After a few minutes, you'll hear a little bell that sounds like this, and we'll move on to the next prompt. After a couple minutes, you'll hear that bell again, and we'll move on to the next prompt and we'll just keep going on like that. Until we're finished, feel free to write 'em whatever you like. And if you finish before the bell, you can try to dig deeper and elaborate or just chill out and enjoy the tunes. Don't overthink it. There's no wrong way to do this. So welcome to the party journal party. What's up party people? You know, I was thinking the other day about how we all walk around with these stories in our heads about who we are, what we're capable of, and what we deserve. And here's the wild part. Most of these stories aren't even ours. They're cobbled together from things people said to us when we were kids, from moments when we failed at things, or even from comparing ourselves to others on social media. But here's the good news. We have the power to rewrite these stories. I. We're not just stuck with the narrative that says that we're not creative enough or bad with money, or that we always mess up with relationships. Whatever that head garbage is, you don't need it. You get to be the author of your own story, and that means you can edit, revise, and completely transform the chapters that aren't serving you anymore. Today we're gonna be jamming through five journal prompts to help you identify those old stories and start crafting new ones that actually align with who you're becoming. So open up that journal and let's get this party started. Here comes prompt number one. What's one story you've been telling yourself about who you are, that you're ready to question? Write it down exactly as it plays out in your head, and then ask yourself, is this actually true or is this just a story that I've been carrying? Prompt number two. Think about a time when you surprised yourself by doing something you didn't think you could do. What does this moment reveal about your true capabilities that contradicts any limiting story that you tell yourself? Prompt number three. If you were writing a book about your life, what would you title the next chapter? What energy, qualities, or experiences do you want this new chapter to embody? Prompt number four. Complete this sentence in as many ways as feel true. I am someone who. Let yourself write beyond your usual self descriptions and include qualities that you're growing into. Prompt number five. Write a brief pep talk to yourself from the perspective of someone who believes in you completely. What would they remind you about your strength, your growth, and your potential? All right, party people. Go ahead. Take a deep breath, stretch out. Complete that thought if you need to. The stories that we tell ourselves, they become the foundation for everything that we do. When we believe that we're someone who never follows through, for example, we tend to create evidence for that story. But when we start seeing ourselves as someone who's learning to honor their commitments on the other hand, then suddenly we find motivation to show up a little bit differently. So you don't have to be stuck with these old narratives. Every day is a chance to write a new page, literally and figuratively, and every choice is an opportunity to step into the person that you're becoming, the person that you wanna become. I.
