In this transformative episode of the Journal Party Podcast, we explore how you spend, save, and value your time through five powerful journaling prompts designed to shift your perspective from time scarcity to time partnership.
Host Alex Gallner guides you through an introspective journey that examines your current relationship with time, helping you identify where you might be rushing through life or spending precious hours on activities that don't align with your values. This episode encourages deep reflection on presence, priorities, and the art of living intentionally within the flow of time.

What's up party people? You're listening to the Journal Party podcast where every week we get together for a little guided journaling jam sash. My name is Alex Goner and I'll be your host. So here's how it works. I'll give you a journal prompt and a groove, and you just start writing. After a few minutes, you'll hear a little bell that sounds like this, and we'll move on to the next prompt. After a couple minutes, you'll hear that bell again, and we'll move on to the next prompt and we'll just keep going on like that. Until we're finished, feel free to write 'em whatever you like. And if you finish before the bell, you can try to dig deeper and elaborate or just chill out and enjoy the tunes. Don't overthink it. There's no wrong way to do this. So welcome to the party journal party. What's up, party people? How's everybody doing? I dunno why I asked that. Like somebody's going to answer anyway. I know it's weird. But you know what's extra weird? Our relationship with time. You like that little segue there? That's what I've been thinking about lately. How weird our relationship is with time. Like we all have the same 24 hours, but some days feel like they fly by in a blink and other days drag on forever. At least it seems that way. And then there's those moments when you're totally in flow. Love those moments. Maybe journaling, creating something, and suddenly three hours fly by without you even noticing. It's pretty wild how time can feel so flexible depending on what we're doing and how present we are. Other times not so flexible. I realize that most of us never actually sit down and examine how we really feel about time. Are we rushing through life trying to save it? Are we spending it on things that don't actually matter to us? Are we constantly feeling behind, or do we feel like we have enough today? We're gonna be jamming through five journal prompts to explore your relationship with time. So open up that journal and let's get this party started. Here comes prompt number one. If you could have a conversation with time itself, what would you wanna say? What questions would you ask and what complaints or compliments might you share? Prompt number two, think about a moment when time felt perfect. You weren't rushing or waiting, just completely present. Describe that experience and what made it feel so right. Prompt number three. What are you currently spending time on that doesn't align with who you wanna be? Write about one thing you could let go of to create space for what matters more. Prompt number four. Imagine you're 80 years old looking back at your life, what would that future self want you to prioritize with your time right now? Prompt number five. If you treated time like a close friend instead of something to manage or conquer, how would your daily rhythms change? What would you do differently? All right. Party people. Hopefully you felt like that was time well spent. You like that little segue? Working on my segues time isn't just something that happens to us. It's something that we're in relationship with every single day. When we can shift from feeling like time's victim to being time's dance partner even, everything changes. We start making choices that honor both our energy as well as our values. The insights you just uncovered. They're your roadmap to a healthier relationship with time. So trust what came up for you.
